Summer Fashion - Let's Get To It!

A new day and a new season in Men's Fashion here in New York City! I have decided to write a short blip of information for all of you out there trying to grab the newest trends while also staying cool this summer. Now, I understand that it is quite the task to keep fashion integrity alive in a season in which skin is the new facebook, so I have devised an action plan for all of you who just need a hint!

What is in this season is the 3rd length Short. I know, I know, it gets dangerous for all of you straight men out there
who do not dare to wear any pant above the knee, but take a hint from an expert, it's a very clean finish and you will get any girl to turn their head in amazement at that nice, stylish ass. Yep, I said it.

Now, to the right, you will notice the short in which I speak of. It even comes with a BELT! You can find this simple short at UNICLO for about $24.00, a price that is unmatched.
What would you pair this with, you might ask? A solid button up from one of my favorite stores (H&M $19.99 or with a cleaner finish ZARA $39.99) TUCKED IN! I am serious boys, tuck that button up in. Professional and stylish. Top it all off with a pair of black/tan/gray LOAFERS from ALDO or
wherever you can get your hands on the shoes from God. You'll be a hit on the streets. It's really interesting how many women I can catch with this outfit, isn't that CRAZY!?

Not only can you pair this outfit with a button up, you can go casual with a simple half button or go preppy with a polo of any color. In this case, you can leave the polo or half button untucked with a casual, yet still preppy, young feel...stylish as all hell. No need for a jacket, but if it does seem like it might get a little chilly, stay light with the colors. This summer h
as NO room for blacks...it's a new year, a year of CHANGE!

Another staple trend this season is the canvas/white pants. Swallow your pride and get a nice pair of flat front (NEVER PLEATED, if I see you on the streets in Pleats and you are under the age of 65 I will be very disappointed) Skinny fit...I say conform to current trends, because the English look is in. I mean, Robert Pattinson doesn't get those Crazy screams for just being sexy....I may be wrong.

Pair those white/canvas pants with a simple light color on top. It can be simple, don't overdue it. The pants have crossed that line already, you don't want to dive in when you can gently saunter across the line of style and get the same affect without nearly as much effort!
YES the Cardigan is STILL in. BUT you must choose wisely. If you are bold enough, as you see I always am, wear the cardigan alone with an undershirt. It is cool, refreshing and can show that chest you have been working on in the Gym all winter...or not.

Well, That's it for today. I hope I have solved some problems in your summer fashion lives. Live it, love it. You are in control of your own destiny...so do it!

SPRING FASHION IS HERE! Can you handle it?

The temperature is changing, people are starting to become a little nicer and everyone in the city is coming out of their seasonal depression...finally!  Now that we are putting Winter behind us, it is time for us to start thinking about our Spring/Summer WARDROBE!  You didn't think i'd let you all off the hook, did you?  GUESS AGAIN!  But instead of dreading having to go downtown to 5th with your girlfriend or with your "girlfriends'' and roam around like a fat girl at the gym...I am here to help!

Every Spring/Summer season has a trent that starts about mid January.  It is a fashion path that is established throughout the entire high fashion industry and then trickles down to the little people such as H&M, Zara and UNICLO.  Don't get me wrong, when I say little people, I mean the 20 Million Americans that shop at these retailers seasonally.  Including ME!  So let me give you some examples of some great outfits and combinations that will set you on the right track to a successful, stylish Spring and Summer!

Let's talk a little about Tommy Hilfiger this season. I will admit, his clothing have never appealed to me, but this season is different!  The light button up top and the white jeans/pants are going to be essential pieces this season.  It's a clean and tidy look that gives every spice of debonair to your image.  Tucked or untucked stick with a light pattern on the top.  Stick with sky/baby blues, light pastels.  Solid or patterned will work.  If you go for the pattern look, stay with vertical stripes.  You can get the SAME outfits at your local H&M retailer.  The Oxford button-up shirts start at $19.95 and the vertical stripped button-ups start at $24.95.  What a deal!

When buying a pair of light pants, STAY SIMPLE.  The pants add a light charm to the outfit, you don't want to distract anyone from the most important part of the outfit, YOU!

Let's look at the new GUESS collection and what it has to offer!

This season is all about SKIN.  Dark jeans and stone button up shirt.  I think they want us to think Country with a flair of GAY.  Yeah, I said it.  But you don't have to go full homo to sport the style.  Button the shirt half way up and add a white under shirt tank (wife beater if you will) and you'll be captivating any woman (or man at that).  The stone brown or gray shirts with the cowboy flair is what is in!   These shirts can be found all over the new Zara line.  The tops can be purchased at around $39.95 and you will DEFINITELY get the look at Urban Outfitters or even UNICLO.  Again, don't get me wrong, GUESS has never been crazy expensive, but way spend the $198 when you could drop 40 and have a nice night out?  PRIORITIES PEOPLE!

  • Cut off Black shirt with design (H&M $12.99...cut off the sleeves yourself)
  • Dark Jeans - SKINNY JEANS (everyone needs a pair) $59.99 ZARA
Well, I hope this short issue has helped ya'll out a little bit!  There is more to come, keep tuning in as I will be back to slap you with more Style tips for the Spring and Summer Season...oh yeah, GET TO THE GYM!

New Year 2009 - Fashion in a time of Crisis

Let's face it, we are all broke.  Everyone is trying their hardest to pinch any penny dropped in their proverbial hat and Fashion is the LAST thing on everyone's mind.  I'd like to ask everyone to remember that this is a new year!  it's really a new age in not only politics but in fashion.  Reason I say this is because I feel any change in society has drastic impact on how we all percieve fashion.  for the past 8 years, we have been under a conservative government that has influence on the general population.  Now that the times have changed, Liberal idealism and culture will bleed into the soil of our country.  I have decided to re-start my fashion publication in light of recent economic shifts and crisis and assure that my reporting and advice will keep everyone's pocketbooks in mind, as it has always.  I am very excited to begin my tutorials on how our fashion culture will shift with the incoming new administration.  Take a look at some new fashion ideas below and let me know what you think!

I feel that Zara has what we want.  If you are someone who is trying to break into the fashion spotlight, take a walk in to a Zara store.  I live by this store as you see from my past posts.  Being fashionable does not mean being broke while doing it.  Simplicity is a very important aspect of today's fashion.  Simple collar and simple tie with a pea coat is classic and sharp.  Loud colors and designs have the possibility of going bad...you never want to set yourself up for failure in ANY sense.

If it's women you want to figure out and find out how to keep them interested, fashion is the way to do it.  A very nice look is the sweater/collar look.  Pair a simple design sweater with a WHITE button up with either a nice pair of jeans or casual slacks, you are bound to turn heads.

DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE LONG COAT.

I say this because in parts of the country, the long coat isn't functional.  Make the look functional for you.  It is one of the sharpest looks out there and I guarantee it will be successful for you.

The Three Piece Suit is slowly becoming more and more popular.  It's all about the vest.  Grab a button-up sleeveless vest from United Colors or H&M for under $40.00.  This will up the stakes on your entry into the fashion world.  Pair it with a tie or just a button up.  Dark colors are always the way to go. NEVER invest in patterns.

Happy 2009 to all of you wonderful readers.  There is far more to come and I welcome our new President, Barack Obama.
